Perhaps most prominent among the events that have tickets up for grabs this week is the return of Britney Spears. The pop performer is apparently drawing upon the success of other artists like Celine Dion, and is heading to Las Vegas, NV, for a brief residency. She will be at Planet Hollywood Resort from December 27-31, January 29, and January 31-February 22. Onsales for the "Piece of Me" shows are this Friday.

Also new among this list is Robin Thicke, he of controversial video and twerking infamy. The R&B artist is joining up with special guests Jessie J and DJ Cassidy for a tour in February and March of 2014. Onsales for the tour are this Friday.

Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day

...What? Are you telling us you don't celebrate Talk Like A Pirate Day? Sheesh, you may be missing out. International Talk Like A Pirate Day dates back decades (for real) to 1955. Ol' Chumbucket and Cap'n Slappy of Albany, Oregon (not sure how they got to Oregon from the sea) decided each year, on September 19, we'd all celebrate pirates. So why aren't you? Here are a few "pirate words" to work into your vocabulary today!

  • Ahoy: Say this instead of boring old "hello" or "hi."
  • Matey: Today, people aren't your "friends" or your "buddies" — they're your mateys!
  • Aye aye: Can be followed up by the word "captain," but this phrase is to be used to agree to something.
  • Arrr: Honestly, you can stick this one anywhere, including cheesy phrases like "Arrr you going to finish those french fries?"

Best of luck to you, ye land lubbers!
