In case you were unable to catch last night's Tony Awards, it's not like you missed anything big... only Neil Patrick Harris doing a duet with Mike Tyson. (Yeah, that Mike Tyson.) And NPH jumping through a hoop (literally). And doing some kind of cheerleader gymnastics. And a magic trick. You know, typical Tony-opening-number stuff, and further proof that Neil Patrick Harris is wonderful.
"Kinky Boots," (which featured songs by Cyndi Lauper) won the most awards with six, while "Matilda the Musical" and "Pippin" won four, and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "The Nance" nabbed three.
A full list of winners, as well as some clips from the show, can be found after the cut. (And, for a peek at the acceptance speeches, The Tonys YouTube channel has already uploaded most of them!)
As part of our countdown to spring, Mike, Tim, and I will be sharing the events in concerts, sports, and theater that we’re most looking forward to this season. Let’s kick it off with theater.

There are a lot of Broadway shows I’m excited about, mostly because my general outlook on life is "excited." But I’d be lying if I didn’t say I had a soft spot for Matilda the Musical.
I may be an adult, but there are just some ways in which I refuse to grow up. My unabashed love for things I adored in my childhood is one of them. I really loved "Matilda" the movie as a kid. It had everything going for it, including magical powers (which I was convinced I would someday discover I also had), the act of overcoming a hardship, and a happy ending.
