December 2013 Events Image

Holiday-themed events prevail in both concerts and theater. Shows like Jingle Ball and Holiday Pops are big names in concerts, while non-holiday shows include Billy Joel, Britney Spears, and Celine Dion.

Theater is relatively quiet in December, as several Broadway shows close. However, two holiday shows, A Christmas Story and Irving Berlin's White Christmas, will open this month. In sports, college bowl games start up at the end of December through 2014, and there are a few Christmas Day basketball games to choose from.

Jingle Ball: Although it seems like a lifetime ago when the Jingle Ball tickets went on sale, the of Jingle Ball jams are finally here! Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Pitbull, Selena Gomez, and Fall Out Boy are some of the performers included at various shows.

Holiday Pops: Keith Lockhart, guest conductors and the Boston Pops are all part of the traditional holiday celebration, Holiday Pops at Boston Symphony Hall Dec. 4-24. Several other symphonies will host similar shows, including Philadelphia and Naples.

Britney Spears Las Vegas: It's not until the end of the month, but Britney Spears begins her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency Dec. 27. "Britney: Piece of Me" will combine old and new songs from the pop princess for the ultimate Britney Spears experience.

November 2013 Events Image

With the winter holidays creeping up on us, so, too, will the holiday shows. This month, Christmas and winter-themed productions come in the form of theater shows like Elf and White Christmas and concerts like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In sports, November is the first full month in the NBA season, and there are several WWE events to choose from.

Justin Timberlake: The Justin Timberlake solo tour for "The 20/20 Experience" (parts 1 and 2) begins tonight. Throughout November, JT will visit cities like Brooklyn, Columbus, Memphis, and Vegas.

October 2013 Events Image

It's a pretty great time of the year for sports, concerts, and theater, given that each category has a plethora of events to choose from. Big names like Elton John and Kanye West will launch U.S. tours this month, while the NFL season continues on strong (as if there was ever any doubt). On top of that, NBA has its pre-season while MLB heads into its postseason, and several shows — including one about legendary musician Janis Joplin — open on Broadway.

Pink: She opens her latest tour, "The Truth About Love," Oct. 10 in Oakland, CA, which she follows up with several California performances before sweeping through the rest of the U.S.

Kanye West: In his first solo tour in five years, Kanye West teams up with up-and-coming rap star Kendrick Lamar. The tour starts in Seattle, WA, Oct 19, hitting cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York along the way.

While September ushers in a new school year and a new season, it also welcomes several new concerts, including tours from Drake and The Lumineers; the long-waited NFL season, as well as the Mayweather vs. Alvarez fight; and several Disney On Ice Shows across the U.S.

Michael Buble: The crooner's tour, "To Be Loved," kicks off Sept. 7 in Chicago, IL. Buble, who recently became a dad, will stop in Boston, MA; Indianapolis, IN; and San Diego, CA .

Drake: Drake will head out on his fourth major tour, beginning Sept. 25 in Portland, OR. Miguel and Future will serve as the tour's opening acts.

In August concerts, Bob Dylan, Macklemore, and Allman Brothers Band head on tour — but not before several festivals, including the Americanarama Fest and the Peach Music Fest, take place. For sports, the NFL preseason kicks off the countdown until NFL season starts back up again, while a few new shows open on Broadway.

Bob Dylan: A notoriously prolific touring artist, Bob Dylan will wrap up at the Americanarama Fest, and then embark on a solo tour Aug 4.
