American Idol Live: The hit talent show is hitting the road once again, kicking off a tour on July 6 in Detroit, MI. The show will visit dozens of cities before ending its tour in Milwaukee, WI, on September 11.

Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks: The duo is joining forces for a brief summer tour. The Heart & Soul Tour begins in Cleveland, OH, on July 20, continuing through August 9.

One Direction: The newest hit boy band continues its 2012 trek across North America through July 1. Tickets are also available for NEXT July (and June and August) for their 2013 dates.

Is it really June already? Is 2012 really almost halfway over? SLOW DOWN, TIME!!

Well, at least June has a lot of great stuff to look forward to, like the first day of summer (June 20) and Icelandic Independence Day (June 17). There are also plenty of great entertainment options; check out some of the highlights we put together for the month:

Concerts

Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw: The two country megastars will launch their Brothers of the Sun tour on June 2 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. The tour will hit plenty of football stadiums along the way, including Cowboys Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium and the Louisiana Superdome.

Sting: The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be playing a handful of concerts in the U.S. in June, including stops in Atlanta and Atlantic City.

Festivals and more festivals: One thing is certain: there will be no shortage of music festivals this month. The Bonnaroo Music Festival is June 7-10 in Manchester, TN; CMA Music Festival is June 7-10 in Nashville, TN; Electric Daisy Carnival is June 8-10 in Las Vegas; Orion Music + More Festival is June 23 in Egg Harbor Township, NJ; and Summerfest is June 27-July 8 in Milwaukee, WI.

There's a lot going on in May. This Friday is Cinco de Mayo. Tuesday, May 8, is V-E Day, or "Victory in Europe Day," the day the Allies won the European Theater of World War II 67 years ago. Sunday, May 13, is Mother's Day (don't forget it!). Finally, Monday, May 28, is Memorial Day. There's also a lot happening in concert, sports, and theater events:

The Bamboozle: The popular festival has returned to its original home base in Asbury Park, NJ, for its 10th anniversary! This year's headliners include Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Mac Miller, Blink-182, and Incubus. The festival will run from May 18 to 20.

Roger Waters: Waters is continuing his successful "The Wall Tour," featuring the entirety of the class album from Pink Floyd. Rogers' tour will begin on May 1 and end July 14.

Dave Matthews Band: After spending much of last year hosting multi-day music festivals, DMB is back on the touring circuit, whilst getting ready to release an album later this year. The tour will begin on May 18.

Other Concerts in May:

  • LMFAO and Rascal Flatts begin their latest tours on April 22.
  • Blink-182 begins a brief tour on May 10, including an appearance at The Bamboozle (see above). They will be joined by The All-American Rejects on select dates.

  • The Bayou Country Music Fest runs from May 26 to 28
