In case you were unable to catch last night's Tony Awards, it's not like you missed anything big... only Neil Patrick Harris doing a duet with Mike Tyson. (Yeah, that Mike Tyson.) And NPH jumping through a hoop (literally). And doing some kind of cheerleader gymnastics. And a magic trick. You know, typical Tony-opening-number stuff, and further proof that Neil Patrick Harris is wonderful.
"Kinky Boots," (which featured songs by Cyndi Lauper) won the most awards with six, while "Matilda the Musical" and "Pippin" won four, and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "The Nance" nabbed three.
A full list of winners, as well as some clips from the show, can be found after the cut. (And, for a peek at the acceptance speeches, The Tonys YouTube channel has already uploaded most of them!)
Tonight, Neil Patrick Harris returns as host of the 67th Tony Awards. And why not? He already hosted in 2009, 2011, and 2012, making this his fourth time around and putting him just behind Angela Lansbury, who hosted the awards show five times.
Not only will he host tonight, but he has also been asked to host the 2014 Emmy Awards. Either CBS really, really loves NPH (considering he also stars in the network's sitcom, "How I Met Your Mother" as Barney Stintson) or he's really awesome. I choose the latter, and here are a few reasons why.
His duet with with Hugh Jackman above. Also part of the list of reasons why Hugh Jackman is awesome.
