The End of One Direction?

Last week, the wildly popular boy band, One Direction announced they will begin an extended hiatus next March after the release of their fifth studio album. Although this is only rumored to be a “hiatus,” everyone (who cares about the band) is left to speculate if the four will ever reconcile. The hiatus, which will last for at least a year will give the group’s remaining members some rest and will allow them to work on their solo careers. The break also means there will be no tour in support of their upcoming album, so you better see them in concert while you have the chance!

If you've been eagerly awaiting to hear something new from One Direction, you're in luck: the band today announced their On the Road Again Tour dates for 2015.

The boys will launch their new tour in July 2015 in San Diego, CA, then visit states across the country before concluding in Boston, MA, in September 2015. But let's be real: with a new album on the way, more dates are probably on the horizon.

One Direction Announces New Album, Single

It's kind of a big week for One Direction: this morning, they announced a new album and a new single for their throngs of fans. 1D's fourth album — appropriately titled "Four" — will be out Nov. 17, while their single is currently available for free on their official website for the next 24 hours. Co-written by Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, "Fireproof" is a soft pop song reminiscent of their recent tracks "You & I" and "Story of My Life." Listen here:

December's Top 10 Events

As I noted last month, timing is everything. With a full month advantage this time around, the One Direction ticket sales tallied up quickly and nobody else even had a chance.

It is the first time since last September that 1D has held the #1 spot. Although that may seem strange at first, remember that this is the band that started selling tickets for 2013 before they even started touring in 2012. One Direction fans do not wait, and 2012 was one of those odd years where ticket sales were so early that it was a long time before they picked back up again. The greatest chunk of tickets usually sells on the onsale date, anyway, and this past December was no different.
