Onsales This Week

After spending 2012 away from the stage, Michael Buble is back with a new tour in support of his latest album, To Be Loved, and initial onsales are this Friday and Monday. The ever-popular Buble will visit 40 cities on this tour, including stops in Indianapolis, IN; Brooklyn, NY; Charlotte, NC; and San Diego, CA. The tour's U.S. concerts are scheduled to begin on September 7 at Chicago's United Center. They will end on November 30 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

Released on April 22, To Be Loved has proven to be yet another hit, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200. This is Buble's fourth straight album to do so. It also debuted at number one in Buble home country Canada, the fifth time it has done so there.

Other onsales this week include Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Tour, which has another seven concerts on sale this Friday. If your city isn't up this week and hasn't gone up yet, never fear as there are more onsales next Friday, May 24. Also, Christmas has come early for fans of the Radio City Rockettes. You didn't misread that — all 200+ Radio City Christmas Spectacular shows are onsale this coming Tuesday, May 21.

Finally, the Backstreet Boys are back. As we reported earlier this week, they're following up on their successful tour with New Kids on the Block in 2011 with their very own 25-date tour during the second half of the summer. The In a World Like This Tour will begin on August 2 at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago and end on September 8 at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Wheatland, CA. Jesse McCartney and Jersey Shore's DJ Pauly D will join them. Initial onsales are on Friday and Saturday.

After getting off to a good start this weekend, the NBA Playoffs continue this week with at least two games scheduled for each day this week. In all eight of the games that took place over the weekend, the home team was able to come away with the win. The road teams will now have to try to even their respective series in Game 2, starting tonight when the Bulls face the Nets in Brooklyn and the Grizzlies take on the Clippers in Los Angeles.

Also, in case you missed it, Tim has a full preview of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference championships. This week tickets continue to go on sale for upcoming games. Likewise, the NHL Playoffs are starting soon, and tickets are continuing to go on sale for that.

Meanwhile, in concerts, the dates keep coming in for Paul McCartney's Out There! tour. Last week, the rocker added two dates at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Those onsales are on today. Finally, Blake Shelton has several more dates onsale this Friday for his Ten Times Crazier Tour, and the Allman Brothers Band have four late summer concerts onsale on Friday and Saturday.

This past week additional dates for The Rolling Stones' 50 and Counting Tour kept coming in. The new dates are mostly second or third shows in cities that were already announced. Notably, the stops in Anaheim, CA; Boston, MA; and Philadelphia, PA; will be back-to-back, while the Chicago, IL, stop will be a three-night run. Los Angeles, CA, is also getting another show, but later in May. The tour will kick off in LA on May 2, but the Stones won't be back there until May 20. Also keep in mind that, unlike some other tours, these additional shows are typically two to three days after the first one and not the next night, as is common.

Unsurprisingly, the city the most shows on the schedule, Chicago, is the U.S. city selling the best here on TicketNetwork.com, with 22% of all orders. However, not every city with multiple shows is selling as well. In fact, two of the five top-selling cities have only a single concert. These are San Jose, CA, with 15% of orders, and Oakland, CA, with 13%. To further emphasize things, Los Angeles, which often does well in a situation where it has more than one show, is second from the bottom, with only 8%.

The top cities (as of this post) are as follows: Chicago (22%), Anaheim (16%), San Jose (15%), Oakland (13%), Philadelphia (12%), Boston (8%), Los Angeles (8%), Las Vegas (6%).

Meanwhile, Kid Rock has another big onsale this coming weekend, with at least 12 shows on Friday and Saturday. There are onsales for shows across the country, but many of them are for east coast cities. Unlike The Rolling Stones, there is no need for qualification — the multi-show city wins it out by a large amount. The four shows in Clarkston, MI, make up 27% of all Kid Rock orders. Everything else is below 10%.

Sales data from TicketNetwork.com as of 4/15/2013 10:30 a.m. EDT.

This week is made up of a lot of continuing onsales for concerts, more baseball onsales for sports, and new productions of big shows for theater.
