Television and movies are important to us, as a society, which is why that's what everyone's talking about this week.
Ryan Gosling quits acting
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that yesterday's video about Ryan Gosling Staring at Things was up at HuffPo because of Gosling's recent announcement: he's breaking up with us. Well, actually, he's taking a break from acting, but this definitely feels like a break-up, and it is not mutual. What did I ever do to deserve this misery? I guess I'm not entirely surprised by this news, since he's said before he's tired of looking at his own face. He also recently made his directorial debut with the film "How To Catch A Monster." But I still get to be bummed. In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep watching videos of him staring (see the one at left for his impressive work in "Drive"). Dearest Ryan, come back to us soon. xoxo, The World.
Huffington Post loves Ryan Gosling just as much as the rest of us do. That's why they created a video montage of what's arguably his best acting method — staring at things.
To be fair, Ryan Gosling is so good looking that he wouldn't have to do much more than just stare off into the distance in order to get acting gigs and make a lot of money. But his roles in movies like "Half Nelson" and "Drive" do showcase that he's a good actor. Fine, so, he's my favorite actor, and therefore I might be a little biased. No matter — I just provided you with two minutes worth of beautiful Ryan Gosling face to brighten your Thursday. You're welcome!
"Jimmy Kimmel Live" moved to a new time slot this week, and in doing so, interrupted beloved QVC segment hosted by Will Ferrell and Ryan Gosling, "The Knife Guys." It sounds weird, but whatever, any reason to post Ryan Gosling is a good one. Watch him start to lose it when Will attacks some of his baked goods with a knife around 3:30. You're welcome.

31 Glorious Roasts of 2012
BuzzFeed is easily the best List Compiler out there. If they're not talking about the 30 cutest kids of the year, then they're showing off the 30 best dogs — both of which will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Want to feel inadequate as a human being? Check out their list of 23 times Neil Patrick Harris did something legendary in 2012. Need a pick-me-up after viewing that list? Here are the year's 15 biggest movie flops, certain to make you feel good that you weren't the poor dude who spent $20 million on a movie, only to gross $1 million in sales worldwide. But one of my favorites is probably their list of roasts, simply because food is awesome. It features everything from a bacon and spinach-stuffed rib-eye roast to a beef wellington wrapped in roasted vegetables and bread. I MEAN COME ON. Even Ron Swanson would be proud.
