If you don't watch football regularly, tuning in to the Super Bowl may not be at the top of your list of ways to spend a Sunday evening. But the Super Bowl is one of those things it seems like everyone tunes in to watch, football fan or not. Here are 6 alternative reasons to watch the game on Sunday, even if football isn't quite your thing.

#1: The commercials

Some people say they actually watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. It's the one time where we don't mind being bombarded by advertisements. Every advertiser is vying for our attention and desperate to become "that" commercial we all talk about the next day, like the "Whassup" commercial in 1992; "The Force" Volkswagen commercial in 2011; or the Old Spice commercial called "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like." The commercials are usually good for a laugh or, at the very least, an eye-roll.

Kitten Bowl Rivals Puppy Bowl By Having 60-70 Kittens

Kittens

Those who sometimes enjoy tuning in to the Puppy Bowl during the Super Bowl (um, who doesn't?) received a nice surprise recently when it was announced that every cat lovers' dream would come true with the Kitten Bowl.

As any Puppy Bowl watcher might know, kittens were previously relegated to a darling half-time show, while puppies were the obvious star players during the actual game. Hallmark, however, decided this wasn't enough and announced the Kitten Bowl, to premiere for the first time during the 2014 Super Bowl.

As if that information wasn't enough, further details about the Kitten Bowl have emerged. For starters, a whopping 60-70 kittens will take part in the Kitten Bowl. (By comparison, the Puppy Bowl typically has around 40 puppies in it. But it also has kittens, so!) On top of that, Beth Stern, talk radio host Howard Stern's wife, will host the event, with Yankees radio announcer John Sterling giving the event's play-by-play.

Cat and dog lovers can finally live in peace.

Last Sunday, hundreds of millions of people tuned into the Super Bowl to watch the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31. This Sunday, it's over. No football. Everyone is just forced back into reality. Since early September, you had something to do every Sunday, but now your schedule has completely opened up. Here are few things to get you through the doldrums of the NFL offseason:

1. Finally get around to doing housework

For the past five months, while Sundays have been dominated by NFL football, the list of chores that need to be done around the house began to add up. Now its time face the consequences. That "honey-do-list" is not going to do itself, even though you hoped that it would.

2. Watch other sports

Yes, football is over, but basketball season is just starting to get good. The NBA season is about halfway over with the All-Star Game just a couple weeks away, and college basketball is about a month away from March Madness. Seems like there should be plenty of basketball excuses you can make to get out of housework.

This week, we’re completely obsessed with Corgis, the return of an NBC cult-favorite, and that third member of Destiny’s Child!

Corgis

Corgis are definitely among the cutest dog breeds in existence. I mean, those stubby little legs are enough to melt the hearts of anyone. Couple that with how furry and happy they are and you can see why Corgis have been the dog of choice for Queen Elizabeth II. Don’t even get me started about Corgi hybrids — their cuteness is lethal! It's enough to make even the least suspecting individuals end up with a house full of the adorable dogs. The cutest Corgi name generator surfaced on Tuesday to promote a Corgi rescue site. What’s yours? (Click here for a larger view.) I’m Miss Stumpy Fluffybutt, which I am surprisingly okay with.

Top 5 Super Bowl XLVII commercials

It may cost nearly $4 million for a 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t stop us all from judging the spots pretty harshly. I mean, that’s part of what watching the game is all about, right? Here are our top Super Bowl commercial picks:

Doritos, "Fashionista Dad"

I always like Doritos commercials during the Super Bowl, and I thought this one where a girl gets her dad to dress up like a princess was pretty cute. The other Doritos commercial, "Goat 4 Sale," was good, too.
