Earlier this summer Jay Z had a successful tour with Justin Timberlake, following the latter's release of The 20/20 Experience. Now Hova is heading back out for his solo Magna Carter World Tour, supporting the album he released in July, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Jay Z will be in Europe in October, but the tour picks back up in North America starting at the end of November. The leg begins on November 30 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, MN, and ends on January 31 at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, PA. See below for U.S. tour dates, and visit the Jay Z page for more information on tickets.
Kanue West has been so prominent in the music industry that it just doesn't seem like five years since his last major solo tour, does it? But that is, in fact, the case with the upcoming Yeezus Tour. The outing, which will visit more than 20 cities, will feature Kendrick Lamar as the opening act for most dates, with other guests for the remaining dates to be announced. It begins on October 19 at KeyArena in Seattle, WA, and end on December 7 at Toyota Center in Houston, TX.
Aside from a couple one-off performances earlier this year and five dates in July and December of last year, and a couple other one-offs and festival appearances, most of West's touring activities have been as part of double-headliners. He toured with Jay-Z in 2011 and 2012, and was to be part of an ultimately cancelled double-headliner with Lady Gaga in 2009 and 2010.

Update 8/13/13: This review originally incorrectly identified the actors in the roles discussed below. The article has been updated. Thanks to the commenters who pointed out the mistake.
About a week and a half ago I was in Philadelphia for my cousin's wedding, and spent the following day doing some sightseeing. It was raining the entire day, so me and the group I was with decided that we should go see a show at night. It so happened that Wicked was playing across the street at the famous Academy of Music, so we bought some tickets.
I wasn't there specifically to review the show, of course, but I committed as much of it as possible to memory, and then wrote the first draft of what's below the next day as I traveled to Williamsburg, VA.
Warning: This review contains major spoilers for the show, so if you haven't seen it and don't wish to know anything about it, turn back now!
This afternoon Pearl Jam announced a new tour. The 24-date run begins on October 11 at Console Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA, and ends on December 6 at Key Arena in the band's hometown of Seattle, WA. The new tour dates add on to the two already announced earlier this year, including a show later this month at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL, and the band's set at the Voodoo Festival in November.
The tour announcements come amidst buzz over a mysterious countdown clock. The clock was originally introduced last week and counted down to today's tour announcement, but immediately reset to run out this Thursday at 3pm ET. Theories about the new revelation have varied from a possible new single in advance of Pearl Jam's upcoming album to the release date of the album itself.
The upcoming tour contains the first extensive United States schedule since 2010. Although the band did play in the country in the last couple years, it was only for five dates between the two years.
Check out a full list of U.S. dates below, and visit the Pearl Jam page to find tickets for the tour.
Summer starts Friday, and one of my favorite parts of the season (aside from beaches and warm weather) is the album and concert boom. Lots of artists go on tour over the summer, and to prep for those tours, they usually release a new album. Hot off the heels of Kanye's "Yeezus" (which came out yesterday!), here are seven albums to get hyped for, as well as the artist's latest single and tour info.
The album: Magna Carter Holy Grail
Release date: July 4
Why it could be good: His album title promises something great, and Jay-Z tends to deliver. Although there hasn't been an official single, info about the album has leaked, and the producer list is a great one: Jahlil Beats, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Rick Rubin, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, The-Dream, J. Cole, and Just Blaze are among them.
