So yeah, that happened.

Saying that I'm a soccer "fan" would probably be considered a stretch. I don't really ever watch any soccer, and if it wasn't for video games, I probably wouldn't know any of the players. That is except for every four years when the World Cup rolls around. This year was no exception; I fell directly into the World Cup hype machine. I have been watching as much of this year's World Cup as I can, and last night's game between the United States and Ghana was a can't-miss event. There was so much build-up and anticipation for the game, it was finally show time. Here is a diary of my viewing experience:

Pre-Game: As Jürgen Klinsmann shakes hands with the coaching staff from Ghana, I started to feel the same jitters I feel when watching my favorite teams. I guess I do care about this game. I'm getting thirsty...

Moments Before Kick-Off: Okay, this thirst is starting to dominate my life. I can run to the kitchen real quick to drink, nothing happens in the first few minutes of the game.

0:34: As I stand in my kitchen, I hear a loud yell from the Ian Darke (ESPN play-by-play guy): "DEMPSEY!" Oh no, after waiting all this time for the game, I missed the big moment as Clint Dempsey knocks it in. That's okay though, the U.S. leads 1-0, that's all that matters.
