Week 6 of the NFL season is officially here and for the third time this season a New England Patriots home game takes the top spot in our NFL Game Power Rankings. It's only the team's third home game this season, meaning that when the Patriots take to the field at Gillette Stadium their fans will come out in full force.
The Patriots welcome "America's Team," the Dallas Cowboys, to Foxboro this Sunday. The Cowboys are coming off a much needed bye week after a tough loss against the Detroit Lions in a game where they had a 24-point lead in the third quarter. Quarterback Tony Romo has gotten a lot of criticism for his inconsistent play, but he should be able to put up big numbers against a struggling Patriots secondary.
Like every week in the NFL, there should be plenty of great games for fans this weekend. Here are all of the NFL Game Power Rankings for Week 6:
1. New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys
Average Ticket Price: $319.80
There is no disputing what will be the top game for Week 6. The Patriots and Cowboys are two of the most storied franchises in the league with some of the biggest names in the game, both on and off the field. The average price for this game is 30% higher than the next game on the list and nearly 363% higher than the last game in the rankings. Gillette Stadium will be rocking this Sunday.
2. Green Bay Packers vs. St. Louis Rams
Average Ticket Price: $245.51
Many people thought that the Rams would be a lot better than they have been so far in 2011. Still winless, it won't get any easier this week when they visit Lambeau Field to take on the Packers. The Packers are one of the two teams left in the NFL that are undefeated, with the other being their NFC North rival the Detroit Lions.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Average Ticket Price: $195.44
The Pittsburgh Steelers showed what kind of team everyone thought they would be last week against the Titans. The team and their fans hope to not have a letdown against the 1-4 Jaguars this weekend.
4. Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings
Average Ticket Price: $192.67
The Bears offensive line has not done a good job protecting quarterback Jay Cutler this season and it won't get any easier this weekend against the Vikings. Minnesota boasts one of the best pass rushers in the game in Jared Allen, and the team currently sits tied for second in the NFL in sacks.
5. New York Giants vs. Buffalo Bills
Average Ticket Price: $149.95
Before this season started no one would have thought the Buffalo Bills would be the best team in New York (geography aside because the Giants and Jets technically play in New Jersey). The Bills take on a Giants team that has been up and down all year.
6. Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans
Average Ticket Price: $140.04
The Ravens will be well rested this week after having the bye week in Week 5. The Texans lost an emotional game last weekend to the Raiders and did not look good on the last play of the game when QB Matt Schaub threw a game-ending interception. What made it worse is that the Raiders only put out 10 players on defense for that play. Ouch.
7. Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Average Ticket Price: $128.62
If there was ever a must-win early season game for a Super Bowl hopeful, this is it for the Philadelphia Eagles. How must-win is it? Only one team in the Super Bowl era has ever made the playoffs after starting the season 1-5.
8. New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
Average Ticket Price: $110.00
The Jets are returning home after a brutal three-game road trip against the Ravens, Raiders, and Patriots, in which they won zero games. They will hope to rebound against the winless Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
9. Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis Colts
Average Ticket Price: $93.14
It's hard to believe that the Colts are this bad after being so good for so long. I guess that’s what happens when your star quarterback needs a surgery where a portion of his hip is taken out and then used to fuse together the bones in his spine.
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints
Average Ticket Price: $82.42
One week the Buccaneers look like the hot, young team of the NFL. The next week they get blown out and look bad doing it. They have a tough test this week against the Saints and their number two ranked offense.
11. Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers
Average Ticket Price: $75.94
The Falcons have looked incredibly unimpressive so far this season after coming in with such high expectations. They will have to be careful this weekend against the Panthers, who have racked up huge offensive numbers despite being 1-4.
12. Detroit Lions vs. San Francisco 49ers
Average Ticket Price: $75.18
This game is surprisingly low in the rankings because it may be the second best game of the week. Lions ticket prices have increased recently, but not enough to lift this game from close to the bottom of the power rankings.
13. Oakland Raiders vs. Cleveland Browns
Average Ticket Price: $69.11
The Raiders will need to be on the lookout for a letdown in their game against the Browns this week following an extremely emotional victory last Sunday. Adding to that is the fact that the Browns will have had plenty of time to prepare as they are coming off of their bye week.
Come back next Thursday for the Week 7 rankings!
