Ever since the news was released last week that Van Halen is going back on tour with original lead man David Lee Roth, and that this lineup is recording a new album, the Internet has practically been buzzing with excitement about it. Well, more information is here at last! Late last night the band finally released the tour dates during a highly anticipated performance at New York City's Cafe Wha?.
The tour begins on February 18 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, KY, and ends on June 26 at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, LA. There will be forty-five concerts by the time everything is said and done...so far, at least. Jazz, funk, and soul band Kool & the Gang will join Van Halen on certain dates. From the press release, it appears the set list will include some songs from the new album as well as a cross-section of hits from throughout the band's history.
The new Van Halen album, titled A Different Kind of Truth, will be released on February 7. The first single off the album, "Tattoo," is dropping on Tuesday. The current U.S. tour dates are listed below. Van Halen's last tour was in 2008.
