Things took a strange turn this week in terms of what’s buzzworthy. The list includes a dog named Banana Joe, Valentine’s Day puns, and a weird dance craze. I blame all the sugar we’re consuming.

Banana Joe

A dog with possibly the best name ever was crowned Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York this week. Banana Joe is a tiny black Affenpinscher, who looks a little bit like a miniature Chewbacca. He beat out a Germain pointer, fox terrier, American foxhound, bichon frise, Portuguese water dog, and old English sheepdog to secure his win. I have a tiny dog myself, so I think he’s a cutie!

Valentine’s Day

Sure, it was yesterday, but that hasn’t stopped people from talking about Valentine’s Day pretty much all week. Here at TicketNetwork, we hosted a charity bake sale, and in Pakistan, the holiday has come under fire, but elsewhere (and by elsewhere, I mean on the internet) a slew of silly pop culture-related valentines were all the rage. Some of my favorites included one featuring Vice President Joe Biden that said, "I’ve been Biden my time to tell you how I feel, Valentine," and another that read, "Is your name Wi-Fi? Because I’m feeling a connection." I used the day as an excuse to eat lots of sweets. Not bad.

Harlem Shake

A YouTube vlogger released a video that’s gone super viral. Not to be confused with the Harlem Shake that went mainstream in 2001, this Harlem Shake meme is much, much stranger. The video starts with a person wearing a mask in a room full of people, dancing to "Harlem Shake" by Baauer. When the bass drops, the video cuts and suddenly the entire crowd is dancing and doing weird things. As with all strange things on the internet, everyone is now trying to replicate it. It’s kind of like "Gangham Style" meets the "Call Me Maybe" lip-sync craze. Videos are popping up everywhere, and even "The Today Show" got in on the action, which might mean it’s time to put the meme to rest.
