It's spriiiing! So, naturally, everyone's talking about March Madness. Also: apparently, we will never, ever, ever be over the '90s. Ever.
I don’t know much about March Madness, except that it relates to picking which Division I team will win NCAA Men’s/Women’s Division I Basketball Championship. That is the extent of my knowledge, and I’m not going to lie, I had to look it up on Wikipedia for the specifics. That said, I know it’s a huge deal for basketball and sports fans. Even the president gets in on it, with his March Madness picks. For me, March Madness is all about the other brackets — like the ones to determine the best breakfast cereal or try to figure out if the ‘80s or the ’90s were the superior decade. Pixar’s video (left) of "Monsters University" teammates reacting to being excluded from the March Madness picks is super cute, too.
The 20/20 Experience
Justin Timberlake’s latest album, "The 20/20 Experience," is finally here, and people are all over it. He hyped its release with his second single and video, "Mirrors," a slower song than his first "Suit and Tie." According to Billboard.com, the album may sell more than 800,000 copies in its first week. That’s more than his previous album, "FutureSex/LoveSounds" sold in its first week, and it could easily eclipse Mumford & Son’s first-week sales, which topped out at just over 630,000. To give you an idea of how big this is, the last time a male artist sold close to that amount was 2010, and JT’s newest album would surpass first-week sales of Taylor Swift's "Red."
Girl Meets World
A while back, we talked about how "Girl Meets World," a follow-up to the ‘90s show "Boy Meets World," had gotten the green light, with its original stars Ben Savage (Cory) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga) agreeing to star. An interview released about a month ago featured Fishel saying that they were still in the casting stages and hadn’t shot anything just yet (video at left). But yesterday, Rowan Blanchard, who will be playing Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley, tweeted photos from the set — and OMG the old cast mates showed up! There are photos of Eric (Cory’s brother), Shawn (Cory’s BFF), Mr. Feeny (ahhhh), and Rachel (their friend from the college years). I wonder if Angela, Jack, and the rest of Cory’s family will make an appearance? No matter, here are a few pics (full set with larger views over at Film Thrasher):
