Three YouTube song covers worth listening to

I have a 45 minute commute into work, sometimes longer, in my really old car, with no iPod hookup. To say I get tired of the Top 40 hits on the radio would be a severe understatement. So I always love when those hits are re-imagined in a new way that make me love listening to the song again. (That’s also part of what makes YouTube so great.) Here are a few of my favorites!

Suit and Tie

I’m pretty sure I post about Justin Timberlake almost as much as I post about Beyonce, so he’s obviously on my list of people I like. It hasn’t gotten too much radio play that I know of, at least not on the stations I’m listening to, so I haven’t gotten sick of the song just yet. Still, I think YouTube’s Tori Kelly does a pretty great cover of the song!

Lindsey Stirling is a violinist and musician (among other things) who’s currently touring the U.S., following her role as a finalist on "America’s Got Talent." Her violin gives songs an entirely new feel and I love it. So it's no surprise that I’m completely obsessed with her and Pentatonix's take on the Imagine Dragons song "Radioactive." Ob. Sessed.

I Knew You Were Trouble

Walk Off the Earth got pretty famous when they did a take on Gotye’s song "Somebody That I Used to Know" (one of the songs on my "If I never hear this song again it will be too soon" list). I love their rendition of Taylor Swift’s "I Knew You Were Trouble" (a song I’m not sick of) because it’s a quirky and fun and really good interpretation.
