Whoever said that a celebrity’s life is all fun has not read about the many aggravations they go through. One of the peskiest and most dangerous aggravations aside from stalking is burglary, and a good number of celebrities have had their own experience with this type of danger in their own homes. Check out our list of the top celebrity burglaries of all time.
A case of burglars just wanting to try the “good life” for a change via a celebrity’s house is what happened in Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent’s mansion. The two burglars, Santos Padilla and Alexander Hernandez, easily found their way inside 50 Cent’s house, which was also formerly owned by Mike Tyson, through an unlocked door. The unwelcome visitors were caught hiding in separate places in the house while in possession of 50 Cent’s things. 50 Cent is lucky he was not in the house because these two burglars have an outstanding warrant for attempted murder.
Everybody knows Bon Jovi for his all time hit songs, but some people also know him for matching his outfits with too much jewelry. In April 2011, a man named Tracy successfully broke in Bon Jovi’s $22 million estate and stole $100,000 worth of jewelry. Luckily he wasn't that smart because he was caught a few days later hiding in a third-floor bathroom of a house just a few doorsteps away from Bon Jovi’s house. Turns out Tracy and his group had been using the house to spy on Bon Jovi for weeks before the burglary. Police were summoned to the scene by a tripped burglar alarm, and many of the stolen items have been recovered.
There’s nothing scarier than a stalker and a burglar in one. Madonna unfortunately had a stalker break into her house — the million dollar mansion she and Guy Ritchie used to live in. The stalker went into Madonna’s bedroom, dressed up in Ritchie’s clothes, and pretended that he was Ritchie. The stalker, Grzegorz Matlok, used a rope to clamber on to a balcony and smash his way into the singer’s £10million townhouse. The only thing the intruder took was a can of Red Bull.
Paris Hilton was a victim in 2008 to the burglary efforts of the so-called "Burglar Bunch," where she lost millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry, handbags, clothing, and other luxury items. Her latest encounter with this type of incident was the attempted intrusion of Nathan Lee Prada into her apartment while armed with two knives. When questioned, Prada said he just wanted to get money and live on a deserted island. His intention was deliberate as he purposely searched for Hilton’s Hollywood home.
A man was arrested at Rihanna's Southern California home in the Pacific Palisades. The suspect told police someone emailed him instructions on how to get into the home, so he rolled over to the property and followed the directions. The instructions probably worked as the man was able to get inside the home where he allegedly snooped around for a while before neighbors noticed something was up. Luckily, police were called to the scene and took the man into custody before he stole anything.
