This week, we're talking about how Spock meets Spock (part deux), John Krasinski is the next Katy Perry, and we buy boxes of tissues in order to prepare for "The Office" series finale.
Star Trek early release
"Star Trek Into Darkness" was originally supposed to be released Friday, May 17. But trekkies are getting so antsy that the movie release has been moved up one day. According to Paramount, the Wednesday evening IMAX showings are already sold out, so movie execs wanted to give fans a chance to see the film even if they weren’t able to nab tickets. Plus, with movies like "Iron Man 3" and "The Great Gatsby" opening early overseas, they figured: why not? Personally, I’m pretty excited to see the film. I still love that they found a way to write Leonard Nimoy (original Spock) into the first movie to appear alongside Zachary Quinto (new Spock), even if it was a little hokey. But others seem to dig it, too, as evidenced by the latest Audi commercial (above)!
John Krasinski as Katy Perry
Jimmy Fallon tends to have his guests do things slightly out of the ordinary, whether it's game shows or skits or getting celebrities to dress up like a chicken and bawk — and his guests do it, because Jimmy Fallon is charming and giggly, so why not? When John Krasinski visited the show this week, he and Jimmy engaged in an epic lip-sync battle, where John Krasinski proved he could probably be the next Katy Perry when he lipsynced "Teenage Dream" as well as Run DMC and Boyz II Men. Who knew he had it in him?
The Office finale
The reason John Krasinski, as well as his other "The Office" cast mates, have been making rounds on talk shows is to promote the final episode of "The Office." We have just one week until that time, and even though some of us (me) have been saying it should have ended a while ago, now we're super sad to see it go (also me). I think we're all secretly hoping for the return of Michael Scott in next week's finale, which has been extended from one hour to one hour and 15 minutes. We'll miss everyone, even weirdos like Creed, but especially America's Favorite Couple, Jim and Pam. In fact, Jenna Fischer (Pam) said after she got the call confirming she and John had both been cast, she cried. "I couldn’t be Pam without him. He’s my Jim. He just is." Which proves that Jim/Pam really are perfect.
