Best Disney songs from Disney On Ice

Aside from the circus, Disney On Ice shows are easily the most beloved family show on TN.com. They bring everyone's favorite Disney characters to life... on ice. I used to attend shows like these as a kid, and I always loved them. There was nothing quite like getting to see princesses, whether Cinderella or Jasmine, up close, while also singing along with them to songs from Disney movies I already loved.

Disney films have some of the most iconic songs of all time. There's nothing like Snow White singing "Whistle While You Work" to get your Monday morning going, right? (You may think I'm being facetious, but I can assure you, I am not. This playlist on YouTube is pretty much my favorite ever.)

The current Disney On Ice shows touring the U.S. — Rockin’ Ever After, Passport to Adventure, 100 Years of Magic, Princesses and Heroes, Let’s Celebrate! — feature characters from some of my favorite Disney movies, like "The Lion King," "Toy Story," "Aladdin," and "The Princess and the Frog." So here are some of my absolute favorite Disney songs, from the very films that make up the current Disney On Ice performances.

Under the Sea

Disney Film: "The Little Mermaid"

Disney On Ice Show: Rockin' Ever After; Let's Celebrate!; Princesses and Heroes; 100 Years of Magic; Passport to Adventure

About: Some might argue that "Part of Your World" is more iconic than this song, and they may be right. But I love this song. Sebastian the crab gets his time to shine! (Even if he is pretty annoying otherwise, what with his insistence on following the rules and all.)

Be Our Guest

Disney Film: "Beauty and the Beast"

Disney On Ice Show: Rockin' Ever After; Let's Celebrate!; Princesses and Heroes; 100 Years of Magic

About: This song is great for a few reasons. In the film, this is the first time we really see just how enchanted the castle is, right down to the utensils. This song is very upbeat, the animation is fun, and it's about manners and etiquette, so it would be impolite not to love it.

You Got a Friend In Me

Disney Film: "Toy Story"

Disney On Ice Show: Let's Celebrate!; 100 Years of Magic

About: What starts out as a song about Woody and Andy ends up as a homage to the budding friendship between Woody and Buzz. If that isn't genius, I don't know what is.

I'll Make a Man Out of You

Disney Film: "Mulan"

Disney On Ice Show: Let's Celebrate!; 100 Years of Magic

About: I can't hear anyone say "let's get down to business" without secretly saying "to defeat... the Haaaaan" in my head. I am embarrassing.

Friend Like Me

Disney Film: "Aladdin"

Disney On Ice Show: Let's Celebrate!; Princesses and Heroes; 100 Years of Magic

About: To be fair, there were a lot of great songs in "Aladdin," including one of my favorites, "A Whole New World." Since "A Whole New World" gets its fair share of recognition, I had to go with "Friend Like Me" instead. Plus: it's Robin Williams singing!

When Somebody Loved Me

Disney Film: "Toy Story 2"

Disney On Ice Show: Let's Celebrate!; 100 Years of Magic

About: Oh God why. Easily one of the saddest song ever. If this doesn't get you all choked up, I'm afraid you may not actually be human.

This Is Halloween

Disney Film: "Nightmare Before Christmas"

Disney On Ice Show: Let's Celebrate!

About: While "Nightmare Before Christmas" isn't a typical Disney film, it still falls under the Disney umbrella. This song is super creepy, but amazingly catchy. I also like "What's This?" but never, ever "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" because it makes my skin crawl more than the "It's a Small World" song.

Dig a Little Deeper

Disney Film: "Princess and the Frog"

Disney On Ice Show: Princesses and Heroes; Let's Celebrate!

About: Some people argue that "The Princess and the Frog" isn't truly part of the Disney princess genre. Those people are not my friends, nor are they welcome to my home if I ever have a Disney-themed party, because this movie is one of the best. The soundtrack alone could dance circles around others. I had the worst time choosing between this, "Ma Belle Evangelline," "Almost There," and "Friends on the Other Side" because they are all amazing.

Circle of Life

Disney Film: "The Lion King"

Disney On Ice Show: Passport to Adventure

About: I don't really think this one needs any explanation. Those opening notes, man.
