The cranking up of the onsales continues this week. First up: a bunch of Friday onsales for The Lumineers, who announced a fall tour on Tuesday. The 23-date tour begins on September 15 at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Morrison, CO, and ends on October 20 at Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton, FL. Nathaniel Rateliff and Dr. Dog will join the band on most tour dates.
It's been a great year for the indie folk group. Its self-titled debut album, which was released in April 2012 to mostly positive reviews, was nominated for two Billboard Awards for Top New Artist and Top Rock Artist and two Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Americana Album. They've also been tearing it up on the road on tour and appearing on the festival circuit. Additionally, they also opened for the Dave Matthews Band during its 2012 tour.
Despite the already full touring schedule, including the dates they're on between now and the end of August, The Lumineers will once again run the circuit, appearing at six festivals between now and the end of August. Wow. Nobody can say the band members are slackers, that's for sure. Oh, and I didn't even count the tour dates and festival appearances in Europe that'll take place at the end of this month and in July. Sounds like a crazy couple months!
That's not all. Chickenfoot guitarist Joe Satriani also has over 20 additional tour dates on sale this Friday, for his North American tour that starts on August 29. Bon Jovi has several additional dates on sale Friday, Saturday, and Monday for two concerts in New York, three in California, and one in Washington State. Also, The Eagles have eight dates onsale Saturday. And, last but not least, individual tickets for the US Open go on sale Monday.
