May's Top 10 Events

If there is a real winner for not just the entire month, but the entirety of 2013 to date, it's definitely Luke Bryan. Country music has always been one of the biggest genres here at (and in most of America), and more tickets for Bryan's shows have sold at than for any other country performer all year*.

Country music these days appears to be a lot like pop music (and some would say it's exactly the same thing). A performer that is popular one year might be displaced by another the following year. For a long time, Kenny Chesney was at the top of the genre, followed by Jason Aldean. This year it is Luke Bryan's turn.

Bryan has been in the Top 10 all year, but May is the first month he is at number one. He did briefly made it to the top spot last July as part of a tour with Jason Aldean, but this is the first time he's done it on his own merits.

Meanwhile, mostly everyone else who is on the list has been on it before, with the exception of The Eagles and Black Sabbath, who are here for the first time. Uniquely among these two is Sabbath, who never would have had the chance before now, as they weren't touring when this series began last year.
