Summer starts Friday, and one of my favorite parts of the season (aside from beaches and warm weather) is the album and concert boom. Lots of artists go on tour over the summer, and to prep for those tours, they usually release a new album. Hot off the heels of Kanye's "Yeezus" (which came out yesterday!), here are seven albums to get hyped for, as well as the artist's latest single and tour info.
The album: Magna Carter Holy Grail
Release date: July 4
Why it could be good: His album title promises something great, and Jay-Z tends to deliver. Although there hasn't been an official single, info about the album has leaked, and the producer list is a great one: Jahlil Beats, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Rick Rubin, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, The-Dream, J. Cole, and Just Blaze are among them.

The album: Stars Dance
Release date: July 19
Why it could be good: Her single "Come and Get It" came out a month ago and already it's had major radio play and the YouTube video has more than 55 million views. This album will likely be a bit more mature than her previous ones, as she tries to shed her Disney image. If the other songs are anything like her single, fans will probably love it.

The album: In a World Like This
Release date: July 30
Why it could be good: The boy band has gone back its roots — there are five of them again instead of four! They've also teamed up with Max Martin, the Swedish music producer behind their songs "I Want It That Way," "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)." Not going to lie, I'm super pumped.

The album: Dirt Road Diaries (name not confirmed)
Release date: Aug. 13
Why it could be good: Luke Bryan has already experienced a lot of success, and I don't anticipate his next album will be any different than his previous ones. Just this year, on March 5, he released "Spring Break...Here to Party," a compilation album with 14 songs. It was number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart AND the Billboard 200.

The album: Paradise Valley
Release date: August 13
Why it could be good: First of all, the official lyric video for his new single "Paper Doll" features the Prancercise lady. Second, the lyrics are supposedly a jab at Taylor Swift. I can't say one way or the other, but I do know that his single sounds like the old John Mayer. His last album, "Born and Raised," had a country spin, which was okay, but didn't much sound like the John Mayer most of us know. However, "Paper Doll" definitely does, so "Paradise Valley" will likely sound similar to "Battle Studies" and older JM stuff.

The album: MGMT
Release date: Aug. 20
Why it could be good: Even if you don't recognize the name, you've probably heard their song "Electric Feel". These guys are a little strange, but they make good music, so who am I to argue? They'll be touring throughout the summer, with a stop at the Firefly Music Festival this weekend.

The album: Mrs. Carter
Release date: TBA
Why it could be good: You mean, aside from the fact that it's Beyonce? Snippets of her new music have leaked here and there, since she's currently on tour, but still no official word on the album. Regardless, I think "Mrs. Carter" will be fun, and if the photos and videos are reliable indicators of her show, so is the tour.
