July is a busy month not just for concerts, but sporting and theater events as well. Aside from summer fests, several artists launch their tours, including Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. For sports, MLB and WWE events are prolific. Meanwhile, for theater lovers, two shows will open on Broadway, including Let It Be, a Beatles musical. Here's what to look out for in July!

Concerts

Justin Timberlake/Jay-Z: The highly-anticipated "Legends of the Summer" tour starts July 17 in Canada, then heads to the Bronx, Chicago, and San Francisco.

Fun.: Following their second album, Some Nights, Fun. heads on tour with Tegan & Sara starting July 6. They'll stop at the Bunbury Musical Festival July 12.

Jonas Brothers: JoBros return with a brand new tour beginning July 10 in Chicago, IL. The trio will make stops in Boston, MA, Atlantic City, NJ, and Charlotte, NC, before it wraps in mid-August.

  • Phish begins its tour July 3.
  • The Eagles kick off July 6.
  • Lil Wayne's tour starts July 10.
  • Bon Jovi hits the road on July 12.

  • Summerfest continues July 2-7.
  • Essence Music Festival July 5-7.
  • Country Thunder Wisconsin is July 18-21.
  • Pitchfork Music Festival is July 19-21.
  • Mixtape Festival is two days, July 26-27.
  • XPoNential Festival is July 27.
  • Warped Tour and Mayhem Festival continue until August 4.

Sports

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Just after Independence Day, on July 6, the Coke Zero 400 race is in Daytona Beach, FL at Daytona International Speedway.

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees: The biggest rivals in baseball go head to head at Fenway Park in Boston, MA, on July 19.

WWE Smackdown: Various WWE events continue throughout July, including Raw, Live, and SmackDown. SmackDown visits Kansas on July 2; Virginia, July 9; Rhode Island, July 16; and Texas, July 24 and July 25.

  • UFC 162: Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman is July 6.
  • The MLB season continues.
  • Several golf championships take place, including Greenbrier Classic (July 4-7) and John Deere Classic (July 11-14).
  • NASCAR races take place in New Hampshire (July 14) and Indiana (July 28).

Theater

Let It Be: The West End show hops overseas to the Great White Way starting July 14. Let It Be is a musical that celebrates the Beatles and their rise to stardom with songs like "Twist and Shout," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," and (of course) "Let It Be."

Forever Tango: The Luis Bravo returns to Broadway July 14 for a 10-week stint. "Dancing with the Stars" duo Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be part of the show for three weeks, July 9-28, while guest vocalist Gilberto Santa Rosa performs from July 9-28.

Chicago: The show recently added talk show host Wendy Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton. She is scheduled to perform through early August.

  • Jersey Boys begins July 9 in South Carolina, before heading to Iowa.
  • Book of Mormon continues its U.S. tour in Chicago, IL, Washington, D.C., and Cleveland, OH.
  • Lucky Guy on Broadway, starring Tom Hanks, goes through July 3.
  • Macbeth, also on Broadway, continues through July 14.
  • Kinky Boots, which swept at this year's Tony Awards, goes forward on Broadway with an open run through July.
