The Royal Baby! A super-cute animal! Beyonce and her long, luxurious locks! That's what people were talking about this week.
It's official: Prince George is here! It's no secret that EVERYONE (no, seriously, everyone) has at least heard about the Royal Baby. We've all been talking about it, speculating, wondering when Kate will go into labor, if it'll be a boy or a girl, what the name will be. Finally, that's all over, and the little Prince of Cambridge is here in all his glory. George Alexander Louis was born July 22, weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces... and he's already got a populated Wikipedia page. What I want to know is this: how on Earth did Kate look so lovely after having a baby? Her hair is just as majestic as ever. Sigh.
The CUTEST donkey/zebra hybrid was born the other day and now I'm convinced we should never just have plain donkeys or zebras anymore. Named Ippo, the "zonkey" was born in Florence, Italy, in an animal reserve. Apparently zonkeys fall under the category "zebroids" — that is, any cross between a zebra and any other equine — and they've been around in some form since the 19th century. Although Ippo wasn't bred intentionally, he's in good company — there are several other zonkeys across the world in Germany, China, and Georgia. His official birth date was July 21, but let's be honest: his birth was totally overshadowed by Prince George.
It might seem like I'm reaching with this Beyonce story, but I swear, it happened. During a concert in Montreal earlier this week, Beyonce's hair got caught in one of the mechanical fans blowing air on stage — and the girl didn't miss a note! She was singing "Halo" and, while most who got their hair caught in anything would probably start freaking out, not Bey. As her security guards tried dutifully to remove her hair from the fan, she kept singing. She later even wrote a note for her fans with playful new lyrics to "Halo" that used the line "I got snatched" (in reference to that phrase, "snatching wigs"), further proving she is the best.
BTW, in case you wanted to follow up on last week's post about Jesse and the Rippers, their performance (mullet hair, Danny Tanner, Aunt Becky and all) can be seen here. What were you talking about this week?
