It was announced a while back that Angelina Jolie's first role since "The Tourist" in 2010 (excluding "Kung Fu Panda 2") would be the Disney® film "Maleficent." Now the trailer is finally here and she's sufficiently dark, evil, and scary in it. Maleficent terrified me so intensely when I was a child that I hid our "Sleeping Beauty" VHS hoping it would never haunt me again. And, well, it's back now, so thanks Angelina Jolie for making my nightmare a reality.
If you remember (and were a fan of) the PBS show, "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" then you might be excited to learn that PBS has been working to revive the franchise. Not in its entirety, mind you — there won't be another educational show or video game — but Carmen Sandiego is already alive and well on PBS social media sites. According to a spokesman for PBS, "we wanted to tap into the nostalgia for the show and the popularity of Throwback Thursday to engage fans across our Vine, Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram accounts." I may not participate, but I still think it's a creative way to relive the '90s.
David Blaine's Real or Magic
Let's just be honest for a second: since this isn't the year 2000, no one's really talking about David Blaine. But. He did manage to get some pretty awesome celebrities to be part of his new special, including the reunion of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul (who you may know from "Breaking Bad"). Other celebrities included in the special are Katy Perry, Jamie Foxx, Jon Stewart, Kanye West, and Ricky Gervais. The special airs Tuesday on ABC.
