What People Are Talking About

Movember's Stachedance

As you already know from the blog post we wrote that paid tribute to the 5 best fictional mustachioed characters, it's Movember! For those who are participating in the event, which serves to raise awareness for men's health issues, Nick Offerman AKA Ron Swanson from "Parks and Recreation" has some Movember motivation. It is, quite frankly, one of the greatest mustache-themed videos ever. For that, you are quite welcome.

Catching Fire, Sesame Street Edition

If you're a fan of "The Hunger Games," then you've likely been counting down until today. The second film in the franchise, "Catching Fire," was released. While that's all well and good, "Sesame Street" has introduced another parody (similar to their previous Les Miserables parody as well as others). This one, spoofing the latest "Hunger Games" film is called "Catching Fur," starting Cookie Monster as Cookie-niss Ever-eat. I've read the series and honestly, I think they captured the essence of the second film pretty well.

Batkid

Last Friday, San Francisco was rescued by a superhero known only as Batkid. Summoned by a bat signal and the city's chief of police, 5-year-old Batkid saved the city — and the San Francisco Giants mascot, Lucille — from his arch enemy, The Penguin. It was an incredible day brought to life by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the city of San Francisco, and 10,000 volunteers. The result was likely an unforgettable day to one little boy who had leukemia (thankfully, he's now in remission). Learn more about it here and prepare for your heart to swell.
