It was really a unique day for millions of people yesterday, with Thanksgiving and Hanukkah coinciding for the first time 125 years. While 125 years does seem like a long time, the next time Thanksgiving will overlap with an entire day of Hanukkah won't be for another 70,000 years. As Jimmy Kimmel explains in the video to the left, many of us won't even be alive to see it.
Black Friday Chaos
As the years go on, it seems that Thanksgiving is becoming less about relaxing and spending time with family and more about resting and getting the necessary sustenance needed to survive the Black Friday riots you are about to enter the following day. Millions and millions of consumers flood stores trying to get their hands on the best deals, resulting in huge crowds, long lines, and many arrests. Personally, I'm going to wait for Cyber Monday because Black Friday kind of scares me.
Butt Fumble Anniversary
It seems like only yesterday that Jets QB Mark Sanchez ran into the backside of one of his offensive lineman causing a very embarrassing fumble. In fact, it was last Thanksgiving it occurred and Mr. Sanchez probably hears about it everyday. On September 6, ESPN had to retire the play from it's "Not Top Ten" list after winning (or losing?) the worst play for 40 straight weeks. The "Butt Fumble" is definitely one of those plays that NFL fans (maybe not Jets fans though) will be talking about for years to come.
What were you talking about this week?
