What People Are Talking About

Awards Season is Upon Us

Over the weekend, the 2014 Golden Globes kicked off this year's award season. It was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the second year in a row, which meant the show was more hijinx-y than normal. For one thing, when Amy was shown as the nominee in her category for "Best Actress in a Comedy," she took it as an opportunity to get a backrub from Bono — who she then made out with, because why not? Similarly, the Oscar nominations came out yesterday. This year, Ellen DeGeneres will host. Weirdest thing about awards season? The 360-degree "Glam Cams." Thankfully, celebrities like Chris Pratt and Terry Crews make them fun!

Kate Gosselin, Kids, and a Super Awkward Interview

I will admit I totally used to watch "Jon and Kate Plus 8." But the drama that is Kate and Jon Gosselin has been nothing short of incredibly irritating over the last few years. Following Kate's "Dancing with the Stars" gig, I had secretly hoped the family would fade into obscurity so they could live happy, normal lives. Instead, Kate and her oldest daughters, twins Mady and Cara, were present for a pretty awkward interview on "The Today Show" this week. Let's be clear: the awkward part of the interview had nothing to do with 13-year-olds Mady and Cara and everything to do with what happens when your mom totally tries to get you to say stuff on national television that you don't want to say. I hate when that happens.

Devil's Baby "Viral" Campaign

I enjoyed the last creepy campaign created to promote a horror film. It was funny because viewers were in on the joke. But this latest campaign, created to promote the film "Devil's Due," is just plain gross. Okay, fine, it's a little funny, too. The premise: a crying baby who is actually a devil terrorizes unsuspecting strangers from the comforts of its self-moving buggy. It's kind of gross and kind of funny and it's already gotten 29 million views since it was released on Tuesday.
