What People Are Talking About

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

On Monday, Jimmy Fallon made his debut as host of "The Tonight Show" — and it seems to have gone without a hitch. He brought some of his most successful skits from "Late Night" to "The Tonight Show," including: "Ew!" where Fallon plays a young tween who finds everything gross (this week's version featured Will Ferrell and Michelle Obama); a video chronicling the evolution of dance, this time in hip hop; and an already-viral video of news anchor Brian Williams rapping to "Rapper's Delight." There's even an app so viewers can keep up with the show! All in all, it's been a pretty great week for "The Tonight Show" host. Congrats, Jimmy Fallon!

Guardians of the Galaxy

When I first heard Marvel was releasing another superhero movie, only this time featuring an anthropomorphic tree and a gun-wielding raccoon, I was skeptical. No, more than skeptical — I was all but checked out. Not even the fact that Chris Pratt (also known as Andy Dwyer from "Parks and Rec") was starring could save this for me. However, the trailer — which debuted this week — has already changed my mind. It seems like Marvel gets it; the premise of this film is weird. The raccoon is weird. The tree is weird. And that's the point. I love a movie that doesn't take itself seriously, and I have no doubt this will succeed in the same way only Marvel films seem to do.

Kid Oscars

Every year the Oscar nominees for Best Picture come out, and every year I think to myself, "Man, I do not watch critically acclaimed movies... I need to get out more." But thanks to this year's adorable video of the "Kid Oscars," I don't have to. This idea was first launched last year and I immediately fell in love with how much better clips of huge Oscar-worthy films were when they were acted by kids. Not only will this save you hours of your life (given that this video is basically the CliffsNotes version of the nominees), but you'll probably smile to yourself at least once because these kids are adorable.
