This month, the list of events to choose from in concerts, theater, and sports is robust. Starting with concerts, Cher, Arcade Fire, and Lorde will launch tours in March. Pop star Lady Gaga will launch a mini-tour with an intimate set of seven shows at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, New York.

In sports, the men’s basketball gets going and there are dozens of monster truck shows to attend across the U.S.

Wrapping things up with theater, we finally get the debut of a handful of Broadway shows, including one written by Sylvester Stallone and one starring starring Broadway veteran Idina Menzel.

Concerts

Arcade Fire: After the 2013 release of the album "Reflektor,” Arcade Fire is ready to hit the road. The Reflektor Tour begins March 6 in Louisville, KY. The band will take a break in April for a two-day festival performance in Tennessee, before resuming their tour April 23 in Denver, CO.

Cher: The legendary singer launches her seventh tour on March 22 in Phoenix, AZ. The Dressed to Kill Tour will feature Cher with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo from March 27 through April 12; Cyndi Lauper will then replace Benatar and Giraldo for the shows from April through July.

Lady Gaga: In anticipation of her upcoming tour, artRAVE, Lady Gaga will perform a string of shows at Roseland Ballroom in New York, New Yok, starting March 28. Performances continue through April 7.

  • Billy Joel's tour continues.
  • Elton John's tour begins March 12.
  • Zac Brown Band has several U.S. shows, starting March 19.
  • Lorde begins her U.S. tour March 3.
  • Il Divo: A Musical Affair U.S. tour starts March 28.
  • Allman Brothers Band starts a brief NYC stint March 7 through March 29.

Sports

Monster Jam: Monster Jam shows ramp up across the U.S. with the warmer weather. Meanwhile, the show’s finals take place March 20-22 in Las Vegas, NV, featuring 32 competing trucks and a Saturday freestyle competition.

Hockey season continues: In addition to the regularly scheduled hockey games, there are two outdoor games scheduled for March. The Blackhawks take on the Penguins in Chicago on March 1, and the Heritage Classic features Canucks vs. Senators on March 2.

Men's basketball: The NCAA® Men's Basketball Tournament begins March 18, and will continue through the end of March before culminating the championship game on April 7th in Arlington, TX.

  • Supercross tour stars March 1.
  • UFC 171 features Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler in Dallas, TX on March 15.

Theater

Les Miserables: The famous musical about the French revolution has been touring the U.S. since 2010, but it will make its way back to Broadway. The show begins previews March 1 and opens officially March 23.

Rocky the Musical: This musical will make its debut March 13. The screenplay for the musical was written by Sylvester Stallone, who wrote and starred in each film version of "Rocky.”

Aladdin: It's the latest kid-friendly production to hit the Great White Way — this one, based on the 1992 film of the same name. The musical, which began previews Feb. 26, opens March 20.
