What People Are Talking About

2014 NFL Draft

Which player will your team take? That is what many football fans wondered last night when they watched the NFL draft, with 32 players being selected thus far. The top name in the draft was of course Johnny Manziel, who has become the new Tim Tebow, dominating nearly every story leading into the draft. Manziel slipped all the way to #22 and the Cleveland Browns, but constant speculation of where he would be drafted led to more people tuning in. The first round television ratings crushed the NBA and NHL playoffs last night, proving once again that football is the king of sports. The second and third rounds of the draft will take place tonight, with the remaining rounds taking place on Saturday.

Mother's Day

It's that time of year again to celebrate all the great moms out there, who work hard each and everyday! Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 11th, but did you know that this is the 100th anniversary of Mother's Day? It's true. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially made the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. The holiday itself actually has a pretty dark history (which you can read about by clicking here), but we're going to keep it light here. If you haven't got a gift for mom yet, check out our Mother's Day Gift Guide. Don't worry about the tickets not being delivered in time: check out our Gift Notes page and get a personalized gift note for her!

WWE Honors Connor the Crusher

Last, we end with a story that is both incredibly sad and happy. It's the story of Connor Michalek, who suffered from pediatric brain cancer, but was an avid WWE fan and superstar Daniel Bryan. Connor was able to meet Bryan for the first time back in 2012, after making a YouTube video asking to meet his favorite wrestler. This time, he was invited back for a recent event in Washington D.C. and what happened was something special. WWE made this video to honor Connor, who recently lost his battle with cancer. RIP Connor "The Crusher".
