Little Big Town’s Nightfall Tour 2020 has been extended with 2021 dates and is coming to a venue near you! The group, famous for their tight four-part harmonies, is still going strong with original members Phillip Sweet, Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman.
From the time Little Big Town released its self-titled debut in 2002, it was clear the band was going to be a big deal. Two singles from the album made the country charts: “Don’t Waste My Time” and “Everything Changes.”
The group’s second album, The Road To Here, came out in 2005 and went platinum, and the album’s top single, “Boondocks,” remains a staple at any Little Big Town concert today. In 2006, band members Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild were married, and then later that same year, Kimberly Schlapman also tied the knot.
In 2007 the band won Vocal Group/Duo of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards and was asked to tour in support of Keith Urban. In 2008 they opened shows for Carrie Underwood’s Carnival Ride Tour.
The band continued to tour in support of big-name country acts, and to produce albums with singles that showed up on the country charts, including hits like “A Little More You” and “Little White Church.” In 2011, Little Big Town had their first headlining tour, in support of their The Reason Why album. That same year, they won a Country Music Association (CMA) award for Vocal Group of the Year.
It was the band’s fifth studio release, Tornado, that propelled the band into country stardom, largely because of the monster crossover hit “Pontoon,” which not only went to number one on the country charts, but did well on the pop music charts and won the CMA award for Single of the Year. In 2013, the group launched another Little Big Town tour as headliners and managed to fit in dates supporting Tim McGraw’s tour as well.
2014’s Painkiller album scored another major hit for the band, and Little Big Town tickets became hot sellers. Another huge crossover success, “Girl Crush,” brought the band to the ears of a whole new audience, along with the catchy “Day Drinking.” That same year, the group was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. “Girl Crush” scored a Grammy nomination for “Song of the Year.”
Between 2014 and 2020, Little Big Town released four studio albums, two of which, 2017’s The Breaker and 2020’s Nightfall both reached number one on the country charts. In 2020, the Nightfall Tour was announced, and dates continue into 2021. You’ll find great seats when you search for Nightfall Tour tickets at Ticket Network.
