TICKETNETWORK AND SOUTH WINDSOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOST SMALL BUSINESS INFORMATIONAL CONFERENCE

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Nov 30, 2011) - TicketNetwork® and the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to help small local businesses by spreading the word about new state programs available to them. The two organizations will host a Small Business Informational Conference on Tuesday, December 6 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at TicketNetwork’s headquarters, located at 75 Gerber Road East in South Windsor. Catherine Smith, Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development and members of her staff will be on hand during the conference to personally speak with local business owners about how the recently passed Jobs Bill will affect them.

"The Jobs Bill lays a foundation for improved economic performance for Connecticut and more importantly, the South Windsor region," said Shari Fiveash, Executive Director of the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce. "We want our region to continue to prosper, so we thought to bring the DECD to the small businesses and explain the Jobs Bill to them."

In addition to the new state Jobs Bill, the conference will also provide information about current federal programs designed to help fuel the growth of small businesses. Scheduled to speak about these programs are John Rossi from Congressman John Larson’s office, Merrie London from the Connecticut Small Business Innovation Research Office, and Anne Evans from the International Trade Administration.

"The goal of this event is simply to provide our local small businesses with all the information they need to use both the new Jobs Bill and these federal programs to their benefit," said Don Vaccaro, CEO of TicketNetwork®. "We want to see every local small business at this event because we want to see every local small business succeed."

Any businesses interested in attending the Small Business Information Conference are asked to RSVP via e-mail at info@southwindsorchamber.com or by phone to the South Windsor Chamber at 860-644-9442. Participants are asked to register by Friday, December 2, 2011. More information is available at www.southwindsorchamber.com.
