TicketNetwork Advisory -- Clippers Tickets Gaining Popularity in Los Angeles
SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwire - Jan 4, 2012) - Ever since moving to Los Angeles in 1984, the Clippers have been known across the NBA as the city's "other" team behind the Lakers. But since the team traded for superstar Chris Paul, they have seen increased popularity with the average price for Clippers tickets jumping by nearly 55% over last season.*
Along with Paul, the Clippers have a couple of the most exciting young players in the league in Blake Griffin and DeAndre Daniels. This has only added to the buzz around the team and has helped to increase the average ticket price for Clippers home games to $116 per ticket this season, up from last year's average of $75.
Los Angeles is still a Lakers town, but the difference between the two franchises seems to be dwindling. Last season, tickets to Lakers home games sold for almost 73% more than home games for the Clippers, but the disparity in price has been cut nearly in half this season, dropping to just 47%.
The teams will face each other three times this season at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
