You may know him as Wolverine from the X-Men, but Hugh Jackman has experience in theatres too. The Australian star played Peter Allen in a 2003 musical, The Boy from Oz, and won a Tony Award. In addition, the actor has appeared in Carousel and Oklahoma! An English performer, Daniel Craig played James Bond in the 2008 film Quantum of Solace, and he also performed on stage in shows like Angels in America. A Steady Rain will mark his Broadway debut, and initial reviews are glowing. Inspired by the Jeffrey Dahmer case, the A Steady Rain plot synopsis includes two characters and takes place in Chicago, IL. As police officers and old friends, Joey and Denny are a great team. But when they make a deadly mistake, the patrolmen could lose everything. Denny and Joey think they are returning a runaway child to his Uncle, but the man is actually a serial killer. When "Uncle" the cannibal kills the Vietnamese boy, the tragedy threatens to destroy their friendship in a storm of guilt and blame. Using dramatic monologues and dialogues, the Keith Huff play lasts for ninety minutes, and A Steady Rain tickets are selling quickly.
Before he wrote A Steady Rain, Keith Huff was an unknown playwright. The Chicago Dramatists produced the show in 2007, and it moved to the Royal George Theatre the following year. In 2009, the crew moved to New York City. It began to preview at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre with movie stars in the lead roles, and according to The New York Times, "Jackman and Craig bring a Hollywood masculinity to the stage". The Big Apple production will last for three months and feature costumes by Scott Pask and lighting by Hugh Vanstone. Once it leaves Broadway, producers may bring the drama overseas to the West End of London.
