American Idiot Plot Summary

A one-act show, American Idiot takes place in post-9/11 America, and the characters are young and rebellious. Johnny escapes from suburbia and tries to find a place in life as "Jesus of Suburbia," but it's not that simple. He winds up finding the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and a drug dealer called St. Jimmy. His friend Tunny goes to war in Iraq, and Johnny meets a girl called Whatsername.
