The Bamboozle Festival is sitting out this year, but it will be back in 2014. In the meantime, you can check out ticket availability for the Skate and Surf Festival, which was also created by Bamboozle founder John D. It will be held in Freehold, NJ, about half an hour away from Bamboozle 2012's Asbury Park venue.
The Bamboozle Festival originated in 2003, was held at Asbury Park at The Stone Pony, and featured Keller Williams, The Roots, and Dark Star Orchestra along with thirty other bands on four stages. In 2005, the event became known as just The Bamboozle and featured over 150 bands! Until 2012 it was held in the parking lot of the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Once just a one-weekend event, The Bamboozle expanded across the country over only a few years. The Bamboozle Left, a California-based version, launched in 2006. In 2008, two more events were added: a small pre-Bamboozle show called The Hoodwink, and a touring festival called The Bamboozle Roadshow. Then in 2010 The Bamboozle came to Chicago for the first time. Notable performers to have appeared through at any of the Bamboozle shows include Sonic Youth, My Chemical Romance, The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Dashboard Confessional, Brand New, and Linkin Park.
