Billy Elliot Plot Summary

In the working class world of 1984, boys were expected to be masculine, work in the coal mines, and love to box. But Billy is a terrible boxer who secretly wants to dance. One day, he wanders into Mrs. Wilkinson's ballet class. The students are all girls, but Billy is intrigued. He starts sneaking to ballet classes without telling his family, who are too busy with the coal strikes to notice anything at first.
