The Black Crowes - History

Often looking like a band that came straight out of the seventies; The Black Crowes have managed to capture the rock sound of that era as well. Fueled by the brothers Rich and Chris Robinson, The Black Crowes have seen their popularity grow over the years since their formation in 1990. Now diehard fans line up to get their chance to get Black Crowes tickets!

The beginnings of The Black Crowes can be traced as far back as 1984 when the Robinson brothers formed the band 'Mr. Crowes Garden'. The group eventually changed their name and became known as The Black Crowes. They released their first album in 1990 entitled Shake Your Money Maker and it earned the band instant fame. Rolling Stone magazine named them Best New American Band of that year, while their album reached as high as #4 on the Billboard chart and was certified platinum. Although the album proved to be extremely successful, the singles 'Jealous Again', 'She Talks to Angels' and 'Hard to Handle' were only a moderate success.

Their next album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (1992), solidified The Black Crowes popularity. It debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 albums and ended up being certified 2x platinum by the RIAA. Once again the singles released from the album were only moderate successes with only 'Remedy' cracking the Top 50 at #48. They have since released multiple albums including Amorica (1994), By Your Side (1999) and Warpaint (2008).
