About Blake Shelton

In 1976, Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma. The thirty two year old country music star started out performing in honky-tonk bars and local country music shows. His turning point came when Mae Boren Axton, a songwriter, visited his town. Mae advised Blake to bring his guitar to Nashville, and he packed his bags as soon as he graduated high school.
