The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was created in 2002 by Superfly Productions and AC Entertainment. Lasting four days and initially catering to jam bands and their fans, it has expanded in recent years to include indie music, folk music, world music, hip hop, jazz, electronica and other genres. The show is split into a number of stages and tents, most of which are located in Centeroo, the main hub of activity at Bonnaroo. Among the stages and tents are the What Stage, holding the headlining artists and bands, the Which Stage, and the This Tent, That Tent, and The Other Tent, which house smaller acts.
In 2007, Bonnaroo event organizers purchased a large portion of the Manchester Farm venue where Bonnaroo has been located since its inception, thus creating a permanent home for the event. Recipients of Bonnaroo tickets often opt to stay at the Great Stage Park campground, either in tents or RVs. Bonnaroo also features SuperJam, where artists from different bands perform together.
