Breakfast at Tiffany’s stars Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke in the iconic role of Holly Golightly. Cory Michael Smith (The Whale) will be Fred, and George Wendt, Broadway veteran and six-time Emmy Award nominee of television’s hit show Cheers, is Joe Bell, the bartender.
Based on the Truman Capote novella and the 1961 film of the same name, this adaptation is by Tony Award winner Richard Greenberg, whose plays include Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain, and The Assembled Parties, which debuts in March. The original film starred Audrey Hepburn.
In a public statement, Greenberg said, "The goal of this version is to return to the original setting of the novella, which is the New York of the Second World War, as well as to resume its tone — still stylish and romantic, yes, but rougher-edged and more candid than people generally remember."
The first musical production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s starred Mary Tyler Moore and Richard Chamberlain. But the Broadway show never made it out of previews, and never had an official opening night performance.
