About Brooks & Dunn
The country music duo, Brooks & Dunn is made up of singer-songwriters Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. Kix Brooks started performing at an early age in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Brooks would take the opportunity to perform whenever he could throughout high school and into college; he would perform at clubs and other venues. After college, Brooks found himself in Nashville where he joined Tree Publishing Co; it was in Nashville that Brooks was introduced to Ronnie Dunn. In the years before he met Ronnie Dunn, Brooks released a single called "Baby, When Your Heart Breaks Down" and a self-titled album, Kix Brooks.
Growing up, Ronnie Dunn was exposed to country music at an early age. It was a long and windy road that took Dunn to Nashville; he went through 13 schools in 12 years. Dunn states, "Music was about the only constant in life". Ronnie Dunn began performing with a band in college and eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to further pursue his music career. In the years before he paired up with Kix Brooks, Dunn released two singles, "It's Written All Over Your Face" and "She Put the Sad in All His Songs".
The duo, Brooks & Dunn, first came together in the early 1990s. Brooks & Dunn made their debut in 1991 with their first album called Brand New Man. The year that the Brooks & Dunn album, Brand New Man, was released, the album was certified platinum six times. Throughout the years, Brooks & Dunn have released many more successful albums including the following:
