The Atlanta-based college bowl game has undergone three name changes in its history. From 1968-1997 Atlanta's college bowl was known as the Peach Bowl, in honor of the state's reputation as the Peach tree capitol of the United States. The tradition of the Peach Bowl eventually became sponsored by the restaurant chain Chick-Fil-A and in 1998, the bowl game became the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. In 2005, "Peach" was dropped from the bowl's name entirely and ever since, it has been called simply the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Though sponsorship has changed the name of Atlanta's college bowl game, in the hearts of many Georgians it will always be the Peach Bowl. This bowl event is one of the more historic games, as it has been around for 40 years. According to an article published by Auburn University, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl sold out of tickets in advance for the last 11 seasons in a row. In 2007 it took less than 48 hours for the Georgia Dome to sell out of seats. In addition, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl continues to have the distinction of being the highest-attended non-BCS college bowl game in the United States over the past 10 years. Because of how quickly the bowl has sold out in the past, fans may think it's too late to get Chick-Fil-A Bowl tickets. TicketNetwork still has a great selection of cheap Chick-Fil-A Bowl tickets, but they're going fast.
