But after a slow start and injuries hampered the Indians, the team finished with an 81-81 record, which was good enough for third place in the Central Division. This season they return with some of the best young players in the game and will be looking to give their faithful fans a winning season.
It won't be easy to make the MLB playoffs in 2009 though, as the teams from the Central Division of the American League have revamped their rosters. The White Sox won the division last year, and are hungry to do it again. The Tigers had a down year in 2008, but in 2009 are back to prove last year was an aberration and come back with a winning year. Moving into a new ballpark, the Twins will make a splash this season in Major League Baseball, and will be competing for the American League pennant.

The Cleveland Indians are one of the charter franchises of the American League and even pre-date the league itself. The Indians are among only four of the charter American League clubs that remain in the same city it was founded, along with Chicago, Boston and Detroit. Over the more than century long existence of the team, the franchise have had many ups and downs but that has never swayed the fans from buying Cleveland Indians baseball tickets and filling the seats.
The team plays in the Central Division of the American League. Since joining the Central Division in 1994, the Indians have been the most decorated team in the division. From 1994 to 2008, the Indians claimed the Central Division title seven times and have advanced to the MLB World Series twice.
From 1995 until 2001, fan support for the Cleveland Indians reached unprecedented levels. For 455 straight games, Cleveland Indians tickets sold out for home games in Cleveland, a record that stood until the Boston Red Sox broke it in 2008. In honor of the ticket sell-out streak, the Indians retired the number 455 in 2001.
After a few rebuilding MLB seasons, the Cleveland Indians have returned to their winning ways. Find hard to get Cleveland Indians tickets on TicketNetwork, your source for the best selection of Cleveland Indians single game tickets.
