Death of a Salesman is one of Arthur Miller's most well known plays. Published in 1949, the script won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, while the Broadway production in the same year won the Tony Award for Best Play. The original production ran for over a year, and it has since been revived on Broadway several times and adapted to film and television productions. Philip Seymour Hoffman starred alongside Andrew Garfield and Linda Emond in the 2012 incarnation of the show.
