About Demi Lovato

Singer, songwriter, and actress Demetria Devonne Lovato was born on August 20, 1992, in Dallas, Texas. The middle child, she has an older sister named Dallas and a younger sister called Madison. At the age of six, Demetria kicked off her acting career playing Angela on Barney & Friends and met her future best friend, Selena Gomez. Growing up, Demi participated in talent competitions in Texas and learned to play the piano and the guitar, but she had her challenges. Access Hollywood reveals that "the singer says when she was in seventh grade, she…had to leave school" because of bullies, and she hopes to use her fame to help other kids rise above bullying. Now, critics are calling Demi the next Hannah Montana and fans snap up concert tickets when they go on sale.

A promising actress, Demi Lovato appeared on several television shows before landing the role of Charlotte Adams on As the Bell Rings, a Disney Channel series. A comedy, As the Bell Rings featured several original Demi Lovato songs, such as "Shadow," and led to other projects. As her career blossomed, 2008 was a busy year for Demi. In addition to starring in Camp Rock with Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas, the sixteen-year-old began playing Sonny Munroe on a new Disney television series, Sonny With A Chance, which was originally called Welcome to Mollywood and takes place in California. On the music front, she released her debut album, called Don't Forget, and her song lyrics rocked the charts.

Selling over 89,000 copies in one week, Don't Forget debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200. Seventeen magazine notes that, "Demi teamed up with the Jonas brothers for a few songs on the album, so between her incredible voice and their catchy song-writing skills, it'll be hard to forget about this album." Besides collaborating on songs like "La La Land" and "On the Line," the teen pop star has opened for the Jonas Brothers.
