The production originally toured under the name of "Walt Disney's World on Ice," but it was rebranded in 1998 to the now ubiquitous "Disney On Ice" name.

At any given time, there are several different productions of Disney On Ice touring all across the world. All new shows first premiere in North America before traveling overseas, and shows are then retired to allow new Disney characters to take center ice. The longest running show to date is Mickey & Minnie's Amazing Journey, which has been running for over 16 years and is one of the franchise’s most popular shows.
