Don Henley got his big break when he was recruited as a member of Linda Ronstadt's backup band. A couple months later, he and Glenn Frey, along with Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner, formed the Eagles. During his time with the band, Henley has acted both as drummer and a co-writer on many of their best-known hits, typically working with Frey. Some of these songs include "Hotel California," "Desperado," and "The Long Run."
When the band broke up in 1980, Henley began a solo career which has been very successful. It has seen Henley release a number of hit singles, including "Dirty Laundry," "Love Rules," and "The Boys of Summer." When the Eagles reformed in 1994, Henley signed back on and has helped write for the band's subsequent releases, including several songs on Long Road Out of Eden (2007). He's also continued to tour with the band.
