On the 17th of that month, Ellie Goulding announced her third album was to be titled Delirium and was slated for a November 6 release date. The same day, she also released the album’s lead single, “On My Mind.” The catchy electropop track peaked at number 5 and number 19 on UK and US music charts, respectively.
On October 30, 2015, Ellie Goulding released the album’s second single, “Army.” A few days later she announced the “Delirium” world tour in the album’s support. Kicking off in Europe in January, the “Delirium” tour will hop across the pond in April, where the first North American show is set to take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC. The trek will then make its way across the United States and Canada, stopping in places such as Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Toyota Center in Houston, Red Hat Amphitheatre in Raleigh, and will finally conclude at New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 21. Elena Jane “Ellie” Goulding was born on December 30, 1986 in Hereford, England and was raised in the small village of Lyonshall. Ellie Goulding first became interested in music at the age of nine when she began playing clarinet. Five years later she learned how to play guitar. While Ellie Goulding was attending Hereford Sixth Form College, a preparatory school, she entered into her first singing competition and placed first.
Ellie Goulding went on to enroll at the University of Kent, where she studied drama, politics, and English. While performing at a talent show at the University, Ellie Goulding caught the attention of Jamie Lillywhite of Turn First Artists. Impressed with her singing abilities, Lillywhite convinced Goulding to leave the university and move to West London to pursue music professionally. Lillywhite became Ellie Goulding’s manager and she quickly began working with producer Starsmith.
In 2009, Ellie Goulding signed with Polydor Records. Following the release of an EP that same year, Ellie Goulding released her debut album Lights in 2010. Lights received generally positive reviews from music critics and included the single “Lights,” which became Ellie Goulding’s first track to chart in the United States, where it reached the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100 after 33 weeks on the chart.
In 2012, Ellie Goulding released her sophomore album, Halcyon. As with her first album, Halcyon was well received by most music critics. The album debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 and as of September 2015 had sold over 500,000 copies. Singles from Halcyon consisted of “Anything Could Happen,” “Figure 8,” and “Explosions.”
Ellie Goulding released her third studio album, “Delirium” in November 2015.
